Consciousness and The Ideal of Self:
Zach is searching for stability; he wants to find a firm, unchanging structure for his life. But his efforts to achieve this ideal are often vain, because unconsciously, he is also inhabited by the opposite desire. Every time he reaches what he believes to be a good balance, he realizes he wants something entirely different. He would do well to become aware that the concepts of stability and balance are difficult to apply to life. By definition, life is movement, change, and perpetual instability.
Zach Herron is sober and reserved and may even strike people as rigid and austere at times. Perhaps Zach was raised in an atmosphere of rigor and sobriety as a child, and, as a result, became an adult a little too fast. In any case, Zach quickly acquired a spirit of self-sufficiency and a strong sense of Zach’s personal dignity and worth. At work, Zach is skillful, meticulous, conscientious, and efficient, but Zach’s lack of self confidence and personal assurance hinder Zach’s decision-making skills. Although Zach would deserve a prominent executive position, Zach might refuse any that are offered due to Zach’s fear of being in the limelight. Zach is aware that early success is often short-lived and fragile and that time rewards those who are patient, which, in Zach’s case, is true. The psychological mechanisms described above are probably the result of a paternal complex. In childhood, Zach’s identity may have been too strongly attached to that of Zach’s father or a father figure, for one of the following reasons:
– the bond with Zach’s father was too close,
– Zach’s father was absent and/or idealized,
– Zach’s father was too strict, etc.
In any case, this psychological particularity can act either as a handicap or as an opportunity for the individual to overcome Zach’sself. It will result in two groups of opposite but complementary reactions which will rule Zach’s behavior all Zach’s life:
– hypersensitivity or insensitivity
– intense life wish or discomfort with life
– obsession or renunciation
– skepticism or fanaticism
– asceticism or lust
– jealousy or indifference
– effort or laziness
The so-called “Saturnian” phases (at age 7, 14, 21, 28 or 29, and 35 years) will be transitional periods that give Zach an opportunity to resolve this complex in real life.
Zach Herron has a profound and fertile inner life and a prolific imagination, but his energy resources are not always sufficient to follow through on and accomplish his multitude of dreams. He tends to live in osmosis with his environment, and effort and action take a heavy toll on him. Usually, he understands phenomena and events intuitively, without really making any effort; so he is not in the habit of disciplining or shaping his thought processes. Like his thoughts, his personality is rather amorphous and disorganized. As a result of this lack of structure, he may have some trouble asserting his individuality and making some personal contribution to society through his career. His tendency to shut out reality and dream impossible dreams, like his refusal of responsibility and duty, may be a source of some difficulty for him.
Adaptation and Sensitivity:
An eloquent speaker and compulsive charmer, Zach Herron has a powerful personal magnetism which may sometimes make him seem arrogant or smug. He cares a great deal about his reputation and will try hard to be admired and appreciated by the people around him. Fond of social events and parties, he likes to be the host, to entertain and charm a captive audience of guests. Indeed, he has special dramatic and artistic talents of the caliber necessary for success in film, theater, fashion, or art in general. He enjoys displaying his generosity, but he also displays a short temper at times; he is easily offended. His partner will have to be a brilliant person, strong and sure of themselves, devoted to him and capable of enhancing his reputation.
Zach Herron is someone who sometimes has trouble distinguishing dreams from reality due to their sensitivity and imagination. Zach’s bubbling imagination provides an abundant source of inspiration for creative or spiritual evolution, but it tends to be less helpful and positive in matters that concern Zach’s self-assertion as responsible and self-sufficient. In a relationship, Zach is extremely romantic and does not always see others the way they really are.
Zach does not always readily reveal himself, and he tends to protect his sensitivity. He has a penchant for intense emotions. Sexuality is a prominent element in his life, and his relationships, which are usually passionate, are motivated by his desires. He likes to understand the hidden side of people, their secret or unconfessed motivations. He would thus find a career which placed him in contact with troubled people especially rewarding.
Love and Sensuality:
Zach Herron’s personality is dominated by love and affectivity. He is subject to love at first sight, and his gallant heart sometimes leaps forth impulsively; his sensitivity is lively and powerful. Amorous rivalries and conquests may be a recurring theme throughout his life.
Zach Herron’s birth chart indicates an emotional function which is expressed in a direct and fairly impulsive way. He enjoys reaching out to other people and making discoveries. An eternal teenager with his gaze riveted on the future, he is imbued with an eminently subjective and personal idealism.
Always riding on a wave of enthusiasm, in love Zach is dashing and uninhibited. His frankness is sometimes devastating, and his aggressiveness sometimes creates problems. A strong-minded person, Zach is not ready to give up either his freedom or his taste for adventure. He tends to place loved ones on a pedestal and then find himself feeling disappointed. However, Zach is ready to devote himself entirely to cheering for and supporting the mate he eventually chooses.
Zach’s love of freedom and high ideals tend to draw him to successful people, sportsmen, and adventurers. He has a good chance of meeting a partner who accepts his independence, respects his freedom, and shares his enthusiasm and love of traveling.
Zach Herron has the fiery, importunate nature of a fervent lover. Indeed, affairs of the heart are one of his main purposes in life. Herron’s personal charm and magnetism give him nearly irresistible powers of seduction, and nearly every one of his well-aimed attempts at conquest leads to the fulfillment and satisfaction of his desires. Due to his impulsiveness and impatience to initiate new encounters, his approach to potential partners may sometimes lack delicacy.
Zach may be characterized by strong sensual and affectionate urges which drive him to seek pleasure. His need for romantic fulfillment may compel him to marry, because he also seeks the legal and social legitimacy the institution of marriage confers on an emotional bond. Indeed, the household is liable to be prosperous and even opulent, as if this offered further evidence that he had indeed achieved success. However, privately, he might be less committed to certain obligations and duties.
Mental and Intellect:
Zach has a lively wit which gives him great agility and scope and a broad field of consciousness which enlivens his curiosity and makes him love variety and change. His mind is alert and his speech is full of verve, humor, and sometimes impudence. These abilities are great resources in communication, discussion, and debate. He is a storehouse of information and ideas of every kind and delights in manipulating words and concepts, discovering new things, and sharpening his memory for trivial facts. This mental agitation could sometimes make him scattered, however, or lacking in coherence and discipline.
Zach tries to shun subjectivity and be as objective as possible. His thoughts are usually structured, and his reasoning, based on objective facts or experience, usually relates to practical goals.
Zach has a lively and agile spirit, but he tends to apply his mental abilities in a somewhat haphazard and disorderly way. He is curious and open-minded, approaching various life experiences with an attitude free of either dogmatism or prejudice. His extremely lively mind leads him to have an opinion on every subject.
Although he enjoys manipulating expressions and concepts and amuses others and himself with witty remarks, his conversations could collapse into argument and conflict.
Because he is often too hasty to formulate and construct the arguments which would back up and inform his ideas, he is sometimes misunderstood. He is often blind to the rashness of his judgments and convinced they are well-founded and objective, which sometimes irritates the people around him. Actually, his overriding need to assert himself as an individual sometimes defeats discussion and prevents him from listening to the other person fairly. But if he were to succeed in disciplining his mind somewhat, he would have innumerable opportunities to apply his communications skills to a great career.
Moreover, he should be careful of his nerves, which are fairly high-strung. Any physical fitness activity would be beneficial; an Eastern discipline such as yoga or Tai-chi-chuan could teach him how to relax and improve control of his nervous and mental energies.
