Polymath Stephen Hough epitomizes Sag’s need to see, learn, and do. This accomplished pianist is also a composer, painter, poet, author, and blogger. He’s won international piano competitions and poetry prizes, performed with orchestras worldwide, and exhibited his artwork in galleries. He’s recorded more than 50 albums and teaches piano at two music academies. He has a master’s degree from Juilliard and a “genius” award from the MacArthur Foundation.

Wise, joyful, interested, and interesting, he’s an example of Sag’s enthusiasm and eternal search for wisdom. His advice on practicing for amateur musicians, “leave the ego-posturing to the professionals….make demands on yourself, fill the time well, concentrate… but then enjoy.” Sounds like good advice for life!
