The sky’s the limit for this Aquarius star…
Born in 1997, Chloe Moretz began acting at age 7 and has already appeared in dozens of movies and television shows—and won as many awards! She’s acted alongside A-listers Sir Ben Kinglsey, Sasha Baron Cohen, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Cage, who played the father of her “sugar and spikes” Hit Girl in Kick-Ass. “He is the coolest guy ever!” This adaptable Aquarian trained in gymnastics so she could do most of her own stunts, but has found success across a myriad of roles. Chloe has no illusions about stardom, “My mom’s always said if I get a big head, she’ll take me out of this business as quick as I got in it….if acting doesn’t work out…what I really want to do is fly airplanes!” She’s expected to appear in Tom and Jerry in 2021.
Is this our era’s poster child for Aquarius?
MIT-trained, super-inventor Ray Kurzweil could be the poster child for Aquarius. In his 20s he designed the first machine for reading books to the blind (Stevie Wonder was a customer). Now Google’s director of engineering is building smart robots. He’s predicted that in 15 years computers will possess more raw intelligence than humans. And he’s made an even more audacious prediction—that we’ll also cheat death itself. He seems well on his way, having joined a cryonics company with the intent of extending his life with future technologies. Through his own lifestyle changes, he reversed his type 2 diabetes. This Aquarian never stops dreaming, “Being an entrepreneur, you have to be optimistic, because if you knew all the obstacles you would face, you would never start anything.”
This Aquarian shimmies to a different drummer…
It isn’t just the hips of Colombian sensation Shakira that are shakin’. “I am constantly in motion,” she admits. The Grammy winner has served as a coach on The Voice, and she’s sold over 50 million albums worldwide; her “Hips Don’t Lie” is one of the best-selling singles of the century, but many of her songs have topped the charts around the world. Hardly content to rest on her, um, laurels, “I’m still very passionate and hungry… I’m always trying to challenge myself.” And she doesn’t show signs of slowing down any time soon. “Movement is life—it’s synonymous with being alive!”
Does this powerhouse embody the highest human spirit?
“Queen of All Media” Oprah Winfrey embodies many Aquarian paradoxes. She’s both outgoing and reserved, public and private. Like others of her sign she questions everything and stops at nothing to find the answer.
She’s enjoyed great success amid turmoil and tragedy, yet Oprah joyfully anticipates the future. “The way I see it, every year can be a new journey….you get one chance to be 25…38…61….why wouldn’t you want to experience all the wonder in each step in your path?” Forward-thinking Aquarians are often so focused on what could be that they forget to appreciate what is. Learn to love the person you are right now. One lesson Oprah’s friend, the ever-admirable Maya Angelou, taught her, “You are enough!” There’s no time like the present.
Expect great things to come from this talented Aquarian…
Everyone knows Amber Riley can sing. You only must see her as Mercedes on Glee to know that! The diva with the powerful pipes then proved she could dance, too. Thanks to her lively quickstep, Amber and her partner Derek Hough won the coveted mirror-ball trophy in season 17 of Dancing with the Stars. It was a tough climb to the top, but the singer refused to take rejection for an answer. Failing to win a spot on American Idol only fueled her determination. “Being told no just made me work harder!” Amber proves that Aquarians employ their strongest asset in everything they do, “I want to let women of all sizes know that you can do whatever, whatever, whatever you put your mind to.”
Nothing will stop this determined Aquarian!
Rose Leslie, who played the strong-willed, independent “wildling” Ygritte, on HBO’s Game of Thrones, is no stranger to the world of castles and royalty. She grew up in 15th century Lickleyhead Castle, near Aberdeen, Scotland, the family’s home for half a millennium. After studying at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, she won roles on TV and at London’s Globe Theatre.
In the first series of ITV’s acclaimed Downton Abbey, Rose traded her upstairs upbringing for a downstairs role as housemaid Gwen. Perhaps her Aquarian independence and strength help Rose choose her roles! As Gwen, determined to leave Downton for a better life, she’s “breaking every rule.” And just like Ygritte, Rose knows exactly what she wants and how to get it!
Fate was written in this Pisces’ stars…
At age 19, Ansel Elgort has only a few films under his belt, but that won’t last long because of his work as Caleb Prior in Divergent and Augustus Waters in the film adaptation of John Green’s young-adult best-seller The Fault in Our Stars.
The roles weren’t accidents. The son of a fashion photographer and opera director, Ansel (named for Ansel Adams) took ballet and singing lessons, performed in musical theater, and attended Stagedoor Manor drama camp for seven years. “You take one step at a time and then eventually you get to star in a big movie…. that’s why I am starting to believe in luck.” It’s all coming together for this rising star!
This red carpet winner is also a wise Fish!
Born in Mexico City, Lupita Nyong’o was destined to be a star. As a child she told her mother elaborate stories about her day at school. Later, the Yale Drama School prepped this Pisces beauty for acting, but it’s her sensitivity that has allowed her to respond so passionately to the people and situations around her. Her role as Patsey in 12 Years a Slave propelled her onto the world’s radar.
And she’s wise beyond her years: “You go to acting school thinking you’re going to learn how to be other people, but really, it taught me how to be myself. It’s in understanding yourself deeply that you can lend yourself to another person’s circumstances and another person’s experience.”
This lovely Pisces knows the art of self-TLC…
Edge of Tomorrow star Emily Blunt has acted in nearly 30 films—and that doesn’t even include her radio, television, and stage work! So how does a hardworking star take it easy? She loves naps in her hammock. “My dad used to swing my brothers and sisters and me in one under the apple tree.”
She massages her tired feet—her mother is a trained reflexologist, “and she’d practice on the family.” She also watches TV—The Voice, because it “embraces talented people who need a chance,”—and she cooks pasta. She discovered cacio e pepe, or peasant pasta, when living in Rome. “It’s just spaghetti with butter, cheese and black pepper—the greatest meal in the world.” That’s amore!
Moody much? This indie rocker Pisces is all heart…
Indie-rock singer-songwriter Sharon Van Etten delivers her message through expressive vocals and intense piano. Heartfelt, elegant, moody, vulnerable—these are just some of the words used to describe her music. Her delivery is “a complete articulation of whatever emotion she is feeling,” wrote one reviewer.
Van Etten doesn’t just skim over the surface of those emotions either. She plunges into them to examine all the joy, pain, anger, warmth, complexity, and heartbreak of relationships. Lucky for her fans, this Pisces is able to express them so perfectly and beautifully!
