Pisces Tarot Card

Pisces is typically identified as an emotional and intuitive zodiac sign with very little grasp on reality. Its tarot card, and the eighteenth card in the Major Arcana—the Moon—is about just that: disconnecting from the everyday, diving into our subconscious thoughts and artistic subtleties.

Of all the zodiac signs, Pisces has unique access to the subconscious mind and is therefore able to sit comfortably in both conscious and subconscious living. Interestingly enough, the Moon Tarot card accurately depicts both sides. Traditionally, the Moon card shows a dog and a wolf howling at the sun and moon—representing the ability to connect with the conscious or controlled (sun/dog) and unconscious or wild (moon/wolf) mind.

Ultimately, the Moon asks what we can learn from alternate and more subconscious perspectives. As one of the last cards in the Major Arcana, it also indicates that we’re coming to a culminating point in our personal karmic journey. Pisces, being the last sign in the zodiac wheel, also symbolizes the end of our life experience.

Pisces House

Pisces rules the twelfth house of the zodiac, which represents things below the surface—the things you cannot see. It’s an outlet for suffering, karma, and represents our limitation, as well as our abilities to understand the world once we unlock life’s mysteries.

Because the twelfth house is the last and final house, it naturally rules endings. This house covers the last stages of a project, trying up loose ends, the afterlife, aging, and surrendering. This is also the house representing our capacity for becoming one with a divine force, which Pisces natives have a natural affinity for.

Pisces natives are usually willing to give up the material joys of life to follow a more spiritual path, and don’t place a lot of value on material items. This house also controls our ability to be giving, which is why Pisces is one of the most generous signs. Humility and compassion are also developed here, as well as losing yourself in order to find a more purposeful calling.

Pisces Planet

Neptune, the god of the sea, is Pisces’ modern ruler in astrology. Neptune is the planet of dreams, inspiration, spirituality and imagination, and guides Pisces on all of their imaginative journeys. Neptune is a slow-moving outer planet, taking 165 years to complete its orbit around the sun. On some levels, this is where Pisces develops a slow-moving reputation. It spends 14 years in each sign, which is enough time to have a lasting effect on the areas of your chart that it’s influencing.

Neptune is a planet of illusion, and it rules Pisces natives’ tendencies to fantasize and get lost in a world of their own creation. This can also be associated with indecision and confusion. The pull between their dream world and reality aren’t often easily reconciled. Neptune is all about creating illusions, which can leave Pisces torn between what’s real and what isn’t. Neptune has a unique mystery surrounding it, and this translates to Pisces natives’ character, as well.

When Is Pisces Season?

Pisces season, from February 19 to March 20, is for the dreamers. It’s when all the things we want to do or wish for come to the front of our mind. We find ourselves drifting off into Neverland. Unfortunately, you could be so busy thinking about your dreams, that you fail to take any action to accomplish said dreams. (But of course, that’s what Aries season is for!)

It’s no doubt that Pisces season is usually emotional, and can make every zodiac sign feel like they’re wearing their hearts on their sleeves. Oh, and hopefully, you’re comfortable knowing things are going to happen before they do. Pisces season gives us all a little cosmic intuitive boost.

Your dreams could be especially buck wild, so you might want to keep a journal and pen by your bedside to write down what comes through. And do be sure to pay attention to those sudden nudges during the day. That’s your intuition telling you the path to take.
